E-Board 2011-2012
President
My name is Muhammed Yusuf and I am the President of the Clarkson University Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers for the 2011-2012 academic year. I Love listening to GOOD music no matter the kind although I do mainly listen to Hip-Hop and R&B. I Love playing soccer and watching soccer as well (Manchester United is my favorite team of course). I think i'm a fun person to be around; Love cracking jokes, just having a good time even in Potsdam, and all around like helping people. Some people would describe me as mean and cocky although I don't see where they get that from. As president my main job is to make sure along with the VP that all the other executive board member are executing their responsibilities to the greatest of their abilities for the chapter, all programming is going as planned and in a timely fashion, and to also provide aid to any executive board members when needed. We plan the general body meeting themes and handle all housekeeping items for the chapter (i.e. meetings with other organizations, faculty, filling out required documentation etc). Oh and my favorite color is Green.
Vice-President
My name is Eliyah Khandaker and i am the vice president of the 2011-2012 NSBE Chapter at Clarkson University. I love to sleep, read adventure and fantasy books, and play sports. I am ambitious, open minded, and I love to give people a hard time just to test their patience and character. As the VP, I do not host any programs, however, I am present at all programs NSBE implements, and deal with all chapter administrative relations.
Secretary
My name is Nicollette Carter and I am the Secretary for the NSBE at Clarkson university Chapter for 2011-2012 academic year. I enjoy stepping, I am part of Theta Phi Alpha Sorority and I'm always hungry. My role as secretary is to ensure communication within the chapter and the executive board is seamless and effective. This entails taking minutes during executive board meetings and being the liaison between executive board members and the general body if they wish to communicate; i.e. sending emails on behalf of the executive board or a particular executive board member or any outside entity wishing to communicate with the chapter.
Treasurer
Hi! my name is Damilola Adepoju (Dami for short) and I am currently the treasurer for NSBE at Clarkson. I enjoy playing soccer and watching soccer as well and I'm a big Arsenal Fan. I am also originally from Nigeria. As treasurer my job is in two parts. One, is to plan for conferences, reserve hotels, plan out the best mode of transportation and try and get as many members as possible to conferences. the second part of my job as treasurer is to create and coordinate fundraisers so the chapter has enough money in the budget to go to conferences in the first place.
Programs Chair
Hello! My name is Nicole Olivares and I am the Programs Chair of NSBE at Clarkson University for the 2011-2012 year. I enjoy reading, drawing, listening to music, and I especially love to dance. I use my imagination for many things, mostly with my art, I'm open-minded and I like to give hugs. As Programs Chair, I do a variety of things. I am responsible for creating programs geared towards technical/professional development of the chapter membership such as resume and interview workshops. I am also responsible for running and/or overseeing community service events and TORCH programs (Technical OutReach Community Help), and informing members of conference competitions such as technical research exhibition. Lastly as programs chair, one of my responsibilities is to provide membership with a fun social event at least once a month to bring the chapter closer together.
Academic Excellence Chair
Greeting all. My name is Junie. I am the Academic Excellence Chair of the 2011-2012 NSBE Chapter at Clarkson UniversityI enjoys companies and learn about different culture. I LOVE to eat, travel, and laugh. I enjoy assist others with their needs and get people to the right place.As the academic excellence chair, I am responsible to get the chapter to a 3.0 GPA. To do that I am implementing the Freshman retention program where review sessions for the engineering gate way courses are hold. Also, I am responsible to promote collaborating studying among members in our study room and provide resources such as the test bank. In addition, I am also responsible to promote scholarship and professional excellence to membership regarding to different type of resources and qualification they have.
Pre-Collegiate Initiative Chair

The Pre-Collegiate Initiative Chair's main responsibility is to create programs which deal with exposing and getting pre-college students interested in STEM fields (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics). The PCI Chair is also responsible for collaborating with the university and participating in the PCI events the University puts on as well such as Pi Day etc. This semester 2 main programs headed by the PCI chair will be Akwesasne tutoring where volunteer assist and encourage high school students to finish their homework and be tutored for areas in which they lack understanding and PCI Science fairs once a month which are geared towards helping engage the community kids in the STEM fields. They allow students to get hand-on experience providing them practical and experimental approaches to apply these STEM field concepts.

The telecommunication chair is responsible for the upkeep of all electronic information handling for the chapter. This entail maintaining the Facebook page with the publications chair, placing fliers on the electronic screens around campus and upkeeping the website. The telecommunications chair is also responsible for keeping in contact with alumni and making sure they are up to date on the chapters activities and such (this is typically done through the website's alumni page)

Membership Chair
Hi! My name is Samar Haroon and I am NSBE @ Clarkson's Membership chair for this academic year. I'm and International Student from Pakistan and I Love dancing and listening to music. As membership chair it is my responsibility to be the liaison between the membership and the Executive board. Its is my duty to make sure there is no disconnect between what the chapter wants and what the executive board thinks they want. As such my tasks include frequently interacting with membership and finding out what they would like to see the chapter do or what kinds of programs they would like to see run. Also finding out from membership at the end of each general body meetings and events whether they liked it or not; what they liked about it, disliked about it, whether they found the information presented useful and how the executive board can improve.
Senator
Hi my name is Shanira Suazo and I am the Senator for the National Society of Black Engineers Chapter at Clarkson University for teh 2011-2012 Academic year. As a senator my main responsibility is to act as the chapters representative when it comes to voting on matters at a regional and national level. I stay up to date on NSBE matters and issues by attending all conference calls which occur for parliamentarians and senators and through which we are informed about issues affecting the chapter such as national dues rising, changes to the national constitution etc. As a Senator the most important task is attending and representing the chapter at conference so out opinion is heard and voting on policies in the chapters best interest.
